The publication marks the culmination of an intensive eight-year journey in one of Canada’s most important historical research projects. The book draws on tens of thousands of archival documents, interviews and other materials to create a definitive portrait of Canada’s First Bank from 1817 onwards. The result is a sustained and wide-ranging examination of a Canadian corporate icon. Dr. Mussio reflected on the arrival of these volumes, especially in this dangerous time.
